Royal Ulster Academy’s 143rd Annual Exhibition Unveils Bold Artistic Vision!

Belfast, Northern Ireland - The Royal Ulster Academy (RUA) is set to unveil its highly anticipated 143rd Annual Exhibition at the Ulster Museum on October 18, 2024. As Northern Ireland’s premier visual arts event, this year's exhibition promises to inspire and captivate with over 300 extraordinary works from both emerging talents and renowned artists. With comedian and artist Phill Jupitus as guest adjudicator, the exhibition offers a fresh perspective on the creative talent shaping the arts today.

As the largest body of practicing visual artists in Northern Ireland, the RUA has been a cornerstone of the arts since its founding in 1879. This year’s exhibition will feature nearly 350 works of art, including paintings, sculptures, audiovisual installations, ceramics, textiles, and more.
This year, The Irish News joins the exhibition in an exciting new role, offering a £1,000 prize for the Best in Show selected from the public submissions. This prize highlights the commitment of The Irish News to fostering local talent and celebrating the best of Northern Ireland’s visual arts.
Visitor Information
The RUA’s Annual Exhibition is free to the public, inviting art enthusiasts, collectors, and casual visitors alike to explore the vibrant world of contemporary art. Last year, the exhibition attracted 100,000 visitors, with total sales exceeding £200,000, underscoring the exhibition's importance as both a cultural and commercial event.
All artworks are available for purchase, with prices ranging from £100 to £20,000 and beyond, making this an accessible event for art lovers with varying budgets.
